2 And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. 3 And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.

The Sheep and the Goats
The Psalmist and King Solomon both say that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Wisdom is found in faith as the gifts of God are granted to you. The Christian fears the Lord as he trusts and loves him. The Christian’s will is being transformed to be like Jesus. Thus, we call ourselves, Christian, which means, “little Christ.” Like the words of Jesus’ parable in Matthew 25, Daniel tells us that the wise will inherit eternal life and those who despise the Lord God will receive shame and everlasting contempt. It is the gift of the Holy Spirit that has made you a child of wisdom and eternal life. This Spirit has transformed you by the Gospel preached and the Sacraments given. You are a child of God and will shine like the stars forever.
