Faith That Clings to Christ

46 So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had made the water wine. And at Capernaum there was an official whose son was ill. 47 When this man heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and asked him to come down and heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

Faith That Clings to Christ
A desperate father comes to Jesus, pleading for his son’s life. His request is simple but urgent: “Come down and heal him.” Here, faith is not bold or eloquent, it is needy and dependent. This father’s faith grows as it is driven to Christ alone. Our faith often feels the same, weak, mixed with fear, and burdened by the weight of what we cannot control. Yet, Jesus does not demand perfect faith. He gives what He commands. From the cross, He bore our sins, carried our griefs, and secured our life with God. When we come to Jesus with trembling prayers, He meets us with His sure Word. Like the father who trusted and found his son healed, we cling to Christ crucified, confident that His promise stands firm. In Him, even our smallest faith finds its anchor and its peace.
