The Living Bread for the Life of the World

55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. 56 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. 58 This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” 59 Jesus said these things in the synagogue, as he taught at Capernaum.
John 6:55-59

The Living Bread for the Life of the World
Jesus speaks plainly: His flesh is true food, His blood true drink. This is not symbolic language but the promise of Christ Himself given for us. On the cross, He offered His body and shed His blood for the forgiveness of sins. Now, through His Word and Sacraments, He delivers this same life to us. The Lord’s Supper is not mere remembrance; it is Christ feeding us with His very life, the same life laid down and taken up again for our salvation. As we eat and drink in faith, we abide in Him, and He in us. This is the mystery and comfort of the Gospel: the crucified and risen Christ comes to sinners, not to demand, but to give. Here at His table, we taste forgiveness, life, and salvation flowing from His cross to us.
