God’s Time, Not Ours

6 Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always here. 7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify about it that its works are evil. 8 You go up to the feast. I am not going up to this feast, for my time has not yet fully come.” 9 After saying this, he remained in Galilee.

God’s Time, Not Ours
Jesus’ brothers could not understand why He delayed going to the feast. They saw opportunity; He saw the cross. Their timing was about glory and recognition. His timing was about the Father’s will, which led not to applause but to suffering, death, and resurrection. Our hearts often want a crown without the cross. We want answers now, relief now, glory now. But Jesus walks to Calvary on His Father’s schedule, not ours. His “not yet” reminds us that God’s plan unfolds for our salvation, not our convenience. At the right time, when the hour came, Jesus bore our sins on the cross. His death looked like defeat, but it was our victory. We wait on Him because He has already secured our future. In His time, through His cross, He gives us life everlasting. “Lord, teach us to trust Your timing.”
