12 “At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.

Delivered by the Lamb’s Book
In the face of tribulation, Daniel’s vision offers hope: those whose names are written in the book will be delivered. This “book” is the Lamb’s Book of Life, those whom God has redeemed in Christ are not forgotten amid the chaos of the world’s final groaning. The “time of trouble” is no mystery to the Church; we live under the cross, where suffering precedes glory. But the cross of Christ has already secured our deliverance. At Calvary, Jesus faced the great tribulation for us. He bore God’s wrath and triumphed over sin, death, and hell. Now, baptized into His name, your name is written in His book. On the Last Day, the Lord will not search for your merits, but for the marks of His mercy. So do not fear. Though judgment comes, you are delivered, by grace, for Christ’s sake, through faith. Your name is written where it cannot be erased.
