For Judgment

39 Jesus said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and those who see may become blind.” 40 Some of the Pharisees near him heard these things, and said to him, “Are we also blind?” 41 Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains.

For Judgment
We boast in our own accomplishments. We would have a portfolio of works to prove we are independent and successful. Yet, apart from God we can accomplish nothing. We are blind. We cannot boast in ourselves. In our depravity, Jesus comes to rescue and to save. He opens our eyes to his work and removes our guilt. It is entirely his work. We boast not in our own work, but in Jesus’ work. We humble ourselves and exalt our Lord and Savior. This is the bold nature of faith. We cling to Jesus alone. Nothing else will do. We fix our eyes on Jesus. He is the author and perfecter of our faith.
