Children of Promise

Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise), “that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land.” Ephesians 6:1–3

Children of Promise

The Lord blesses us with children. His intervention in this life is what makes obeying possible. The Lord Jesus is the example for the children. He longed for the cup to be taken from him, but not as he willed, rather what the Father willed. He goes to the cross following his Father's will. He completes that will to have you as his children. He dies and rises again so that you would be made new and whole again. The Law still has a place in our lives because of this work of Jesus. He completes all his promises. He is always true to his Word. He is the life of our children, too. He comes not just to save the adults, but to give daily bread and salvation, too, to everyone, no matter what age. The cross stands as each person lives.
