8 “At that time, declares the Lord, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its officials, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be brought out of their tombs. 2 And they shall be spread before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and served, which they have gone after, and which they have sought and worshiped. And they shall not be gathered or buried. They shall be as dung on the surface of the ground. 3 Death shall be preferred to life by all the remnant that remains of this evil family in all the places where I have driven them, declares the Lord of hosts.

Not A Bone Shall Be Broken
Sin has caused this great wrath. The wages of sin is death. Remember, you are dust and to dust you shall return. It is promised that the bones of the King shall be laid out in the open air. So, it is, the bones of the King of Kings are nailed to a tree and are made a curse for all the world to see. This King takes your place and offers instead his throne and life to you. He endures shame and ridicule for your life and salvation. Jesus takes your place, having kept the Law perfectly, he endures suffering, cross, and shame for you. No longer will death have any mastery over you. Jesus has conquered even death. Your enemies have been vanquished and your suffering was taken on by God himself. Thanks be to God for his love and grace.
