Adult Bible Study

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another - Proverbs 27:17

Sunday Mornings

Our Savior Lutheran Church offers a wide variety of adult Bible classes both before and after worship on Sundays. Please join us in one of the many classes offered below. There will be fresh coffee and a variety of fresh donuts and kolaches to enjoy. It is our prayer for you that these Bible studies will strengthen your faith and you will go home knowing you are secure in your faith.

8:15 AM Adult Class
Genesis: The Beginning of All Things:  A study of Creation in Scripture.
Pastor White, Bible Classroom, Sanctuary Downstairs

10:45 AM Adult Classes
THE COST OF DISCIPLESHIP : This will be an intense study to help each of us understand what it truly means to be a Christian according to the Word of God. Our outline will be based on the life and the writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Pastor Bonhoeffer was brutally martyred by the Nazis for his courageous stand against the evil which had engulfed his country. Most Christians remained silent while everything they professed to believe was denied and destroyed. Join us for this important Bible study because it is happening again all around us. Let God call us back to real discipleship.
Pastor White, Bible Classroom, Sanctuary Downstairs

Enduring Faith: This adult class looks at the lessons the children are learning, with an adult perspective. New members and parents of Sunday School children are encouraged to come. All are welcome.
Bill Prestwood, C102, Classroom Building

Lutheran Confessions: Learn the history and development of our Lutheran Confessions, which were written from a genuine concern that false teaching not obscure the glory and merit of Christ; through discussion, you will see how questions that have been asked throughout history are answered solidly and reliably by Scripture.
James Kriegel, C101, Classroom Building

Women's Bible Study:
The Mighty and the Mysterious, by Heidi Goehmann – We are taking a walk through God's Word to the Colossians. Though many things will remain a mystery until we see our Savior face-to-face, readers will discover that God fills them right now in every way, through the mighty and mysterious Body of Christ, the Church.
Group Discussion, Family Room, Sanctuary Downstairs

Applying Scripture to Current Events: (College/Young Professionals Class) - This class for young adults focuses on today's headlines and current events and discuss these topics in light of Scripture and how the verses covered each week apply to everyday life.
Adam White, C106, Classroom Building

The Church Militant - God's Work in History: Picking up from the history of the early Church, we continue the history of how God preserved His Word within the medieval Church and brought about the Reformation in the 16th century. Combining history and theology, we will explore the connections of the Church past and present.
