Knowledge of the Mind of Christ

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you. Be not like a horse or a mule, without understanding.
PSALM 32:8-9

Knowledge of the Mind of Christ
In the Holy Scriptures understanding takes its name from the object rather than from any capacity, the opposite of what it is in philosophy. Understanding is the recognition or knowledge of the mind of Christ, about which the apostle teaches excellently in 1 Corinthians 1 and 2, for he says (1 Corinthians 2:7-8): "We speak a wisdom hidden in a mystery . . . which none of the princes of this world understood." In brief, this is nothing else than the wisdom of the cross of Christ, which is folly to the Gentiles and a stumbling block to the Jews, namely, to understand that the Son of God was incarnate and crucified and put to death and raised for our salvation. It is to the understanding of this wisdom that the title of the psalm refers.
