Feed My Lambs

Feed My Lambs
The Lord Jesus establishes how he will bring his people grace and mercy. He sends forth his apostles into the world to feed and tend his flock. They are men that are under authority. They are connected to the Lord Jesus. As the Father sent Jesus, so also Jesus sends the apostles and pastors to preach his Word. They are not hired servants. They are undershepherds. They must be loyal servants who love their Master more than anything else. They will stand in his stead and to them he gives the authority to forgive sins. To you he gives a pastor, to shepherd you, to feed you with the Word and Sacraments, to tend you with the Law and the Gospel, and to bind up your wounds with the medicine of immortality. Jesus loves you and bids you be forgiven and made whole again. He preaches that love into your ears and places it upon your tongue in the Sacrament. Rejoice in his love that has no end.
