A Family Feast
His sons used to go and hold a feast in the house of each one on his day, and they would send and invite their three sisters to eat and drink with them. And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.

A Family Feast
There are many occasions where we come together with family to have a feast: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, birthdays, graduations, weddings, etc. All are wonderful times to catch up with friends and family and enjoy a meal. We look forward to these days all year, often circling them on our calendars and marking them in our phones. We all love a good get together.
How blessed are we then that our loving Father in heaven invites us to His feast every week? A feast which not only includes getting to see friend and family, but also to partake in a meal together. Every Sunday, God invite us to His house so that we might join in the feast of victory for our God. He prepares a table fill not with turkey and ham or pies and birthday cake, but with the actual food of life, the true body and blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. As brothers and sister to Christ in faith, we are welcome at His table. With eager anticipation we await each Sunday to once again participate as a family in God’s feast of salvation, joined by the host of heaven!
