Commander of the Sun

[W]ho commands the sun, and it does not rise; who seals up the stars; who alone stretched out the heavens and trampled the waves of the sea;
Job 9: 7-8

Commander of the Sun
Our universe is massive beyond comprehension.  The vastness is such that we measure distance in light years and still we can’t wrap our minds around it.  Yet for all of its vastness and enormity, God is still greater.  He is the creator of it all and in fact commands the Sun, as Job states.  The First Article of the Apostles’ Creed tells us that God is the creator of all good things.  He is our reason for being.  And He commands the Sun and the stars the Earth and all the planets for us, His creation.  And when we broke His creation with sin, He sent His Son to reconcile us back to Him. And through His Holy Spirit we are made holy and sustained in His gift of faith.  Our God is one, Creator, Redeemer, and Sanctifier.  For the God who has the power to command the Sun has the power to save you through His Son.  “Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, who formed you from the womb: ‘I am the LORD, who made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who spread out the earth by myself’” (Isaiah 44:24). Our Lord, our Redeemer grants you forgiveness, and through His Son, gives life eternal, a though which is beyond comprehension.
