Tempted to Doubt

But a man dies and is laid low; man breathes his last, and where is he? As waters fail from a lake and a river wastes away and dries up, so a man lies down and rises not again; till the heavens are no more he will not awake or be roused out of his sleep.
Job 14:10-12

Tempted to Doubt
Doubt is a mighty adversary.  It comes to us often and at unexpected times.  We study for a test and know the information, yet as we sit down pencil in hand we doubt if we can pass. We get the courage to ask for her hand in marriage but as the words come out of our mouths fear strikes us as we think, “What if she says no?”  The devil loves to plant seeds of doubt and our sinful natures provide fertile soil for it to sprout and grow.  Here we see Job doubting the resurrection.  In his pain and suffering he questions whether or not there is life after death.  The devil must have been enjoying this immensely.  Likewise, we also doubt God’s love and protection in our lives. We doubt that God could forgive our sins.  Yet He does.  He has taken all our sins with Him to the cross, and there He gave His life so we might live. Never doubting but always trusting in His promise, “And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age” (Matthew 28:20b).
