Full of Words

For I am full of words; the spirit within me constrains me. Behold, my belly is like wine that has no vent; like new wineskins ready to burst.
Job 32:18–19

Full of Words
Bursting at the seams.  This is the description Elihu gives of himself.  He can no longer sit idly by and not speak.  He is full of words!  We are all full of words when it comes to setting people straight.  We relish the opportunity to point out others flaws and mistakes.  This has led to countless arguments, fights, divorces, wars, pain, and suffering.  But at least we showed them. This is our own sinful flesh controlling the narrative.  We too easily are convinced the only way to build ourselves up is to tear others down.  Yet Christ would have us act in another way. “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31), “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13). We are not to tear down but instead build up our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are to be Christlike, in that we sacrifice for their sake.  Jesus went to the cross to deliver us from the bondage to sin, death, and the devil.  In this grace given freedom we are able to love God and love our neighbor.  If we are to be full of words, let them be God’s Word of love and forgiveness.  Because those are the Words our Father has given to us.
