Encourage One Another
The elder to the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth. Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul. For I rejoiced greatly when the brothers came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.

Encourage One Another
God calls his holy people to pray to him for one another. By Baptism, we are a kingdom of priests and princes to our God. Priests intercede for the body of Christ. Jesus is our High Priest. He is the one intercessor, the perfect sacrifice for our sin, the pure Word that gives life. We become like him when his Holy Spirit calls us by the Gospel, enlightens us with the gifts of heaven, and makes us holy in the true faith. We speak to one another, too. We encourage one another with words concerning the fruits of faith given in Christian community. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to bind us up together as the holy people of God. You and I have been made one body by the blood shed on the cross by Jesus Christ. The fruits that come forth from the lives of Christ’s saints give great delight to our God, but also to the fellow believers. We are encouraged by one another as we walk together in faith and life. Let us continue to be strengthened in the Word that we might encourage one another.
