The Beatitudes – Rejoice
We would all do well to remember in our present state of being, amongst the pain and toil of mortal life, the great reward laid up in heaven for those who are persecuted and reviled for righteousness’ sake. So be glad and leap for joy on account of the Son of man, just as the apostles once rejoiced when they were counted worthy to suffer dishonor for His name. Jesus blesses the crowds and describes their estates in this life and the life to come as one of joy and blessings. Even today, amid sorrows, God’s blessings prevail. Therefore, let our hearts be set on His blessings and promises that we should forever remain steadfast in all circumstances. Ever clinging to the cross and the sure hope of our salvation.
