The Woes -- The Rich
It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. The temptation is for the rich to put their trust and their fear in their possessions. Our God is a jealous God. He wants all the love, the fear, and the trust. We must build our riches in heaven and not here on earth. God makes us rich in Jesus. God rescues us out of all our perils by sending Jesus to the cross. Washing us in the blood of Jesus makes us heavenly rich, child of God for all eternity, rich. Without the blood of Jesus, our riches, any riches will go away when we die. The pleasure we have now, ever fleeting, is the only consolation. The riches we receive in Jesus are forever. Thanks be to God that he has made us rich in his kingdom.
