Lead to Repentance

Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things. 2 We know that the judgment of God rightly falls on those who practice such things. 3 Do you suppose, O man—you who judge those who practice such things and yet do them yourself—that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you presume on the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience, not knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?
Romans 2:1-4

Lead to Repentance

All have fallen short of the glory of God and need a Savior. The greatest function of the Law is to condemn us of our sin and teach us that we cannot save ourselves. The human heart wants to justify itself, and it wants to cast judgment on our neighbor. However, those things cannot be. We don't have the authority for either. Your God has the authority and the power. He gives you and me what we need to support this body and life. He gives us what we need to support our eternal life, too. His kindness is the Gospel response to the crush of the Law. His kindness is caught up in this Jesus, who is both God and Man, who died on the cross to save you and make you whole again. Jesus justifies you. Jesus makes you clean from your sin. Jesus is your Savior.
