Faithful

But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.) By no means! For then how could God judge the world? But if through my lie God’s truth abounds to his glory, why am I still being condemned as a sinner? And why not do evil that good may come?—as some people slanderously charge us with saying. Their condemnation is just.
Romans 3:5-8

Faithful
In our fallen nature, we want to twist and distort God’s Word and His relationship with us. We blame God for our condition and then blame Him when we don’t live up to His Law. We want to be equal to God, but we don’t want to live lives of holiness. Our sinfulness distinguishes us from God and His perfection. Our sinfulness shows the radical difference between God’s holiness and humanity’s unrighteousness. God made covenants with His people, but we have broken our promises. But thanks be to God that He does not abandon us and leave us in our sins. How blessed we are that our unfaithfulness cannot nullify His faithfulness. He redeems us through the blood of His Son on the cross because He is gracious. For this, we give thanks to Him for His grace and faithfulness. May He continue to empower us by His Spirit to be faithful to Him.
