35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? 36 As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”

Sheep to be Slaughtered
There are many things that want to separate you from the love of Christ. The enemies of God rage and spite against him and his people. Your own sinful nature fights against this love and comfort that Jesus has for you. The works of the flesh are evident. They strive for division and separation. The work of the Cross is also evident. The Lord Jesus destroys the reign of all our enemies. He changes the greatest division, death, into a gateway of unity and peace. He takes away the sting of the grave and changes his people to be like him. He was like a lamb that was silent so also we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered. Expect the world to treat you that way. However, no worry for you, for Jesus has won the victory. Nothing will separate you from him.
