Seek the Christ
Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the sea, and a great crowd followed, from Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem and Idumea and from beyond the Jordan and from around Tyre and Sidon. When the great crowd heard all that he was doing, they came to him. And he told his disciples to have a boat ready for him because of the crowd, lest they crush him, for he had healed many, so that all who had diseases pressed around him to touch him. And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” And he strictly ordered them not to make him known.

Seek the Christ
If you know anything about today’s pop music, then you know who Taylor Swift is. As one of the most popular entertainers of our day, she attracts hoards of loyal and devoted fans following her every move. Of course, there are also those who think she is the worst and want nothing to do with her or her music. But love her or hate her she is a force. Something similar was happening in Jesus’ day, but of course with much more at stake than a new album. The Pharisees and Herodians had nothing but hostility and contempt for Christ, while the crowds of ordinary people enthusiastically pressed around Jesus to listen and be healed. Unfortunately, the mixed reaction to Jesus has not changed over the years. Many still mock and reject Him, while others desperately seek His help. Regardless, though, He still attends to people’s physical and spiritual needs. He continues to bless those who seek Him today. May our Lord draw us to Him. that we might learn from Him and be healed by Him. May we be counted among the eager crowds who leave everything else to be near Him.
