Let It Shine
And he said to them, “Is a lamp brought in to be put under a basket, or under a bed, and not on a stand? For nothing is hidden except to be made manifest; nor is anything secret except to come to light. If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.” And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you. For to the one who has, more will be given, and from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”

Let It Shine
If you ever spent any time in a Sunday school class as a child, you have undoubtedly sung the song, This Little Light of Mine. In it, we are encouraged to let the light of Christ in us shine out to the world. Jesus speaks of a lamp not being hidden under a basket but placed on a stand to give light. He reminds us that nothing is hidden that will not be made manifest, and we must listen carefully, for the measure we use will be measured to us. As followers of Christ, we are called to shine His light in a dark world. Our faith is not meant to be hidden but displayed through our words and deeds. God’s truth and love are not secrets to be kept but treasures to be shared. As we absorb His Word and are transformed by it, we become beacons of His grace. Let us, therefore, faithfully hear His Word and reflect the light of the cross and the empty tomb to all those He places in our lives.
