Awake and Vigilant

“But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Be on guard, keep awake. For you do not know when the time will come. It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake. Therefore stay awake—for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.”
Mark 13:32–37

Awake and Vigilant
These verses remind us of the urgency of our faith. While the fall of Jerusalem was a sign fulfilled within a generation, the return of our Lord remains unknown. Jesus' words, "But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows," call us to a life of vigilance. We are encouraged to use our time wisely, proclaiming the Gospel for the salvation of others. The Holy Spirit empowers us for this mission. In our daily walk, we must stay awake, spiritually alert, and ready for His return. This means living out our faith actively, sharing the good news of Christ Jesus and Him crucified, and serving others in love. Our Lord's promise to be with us always provides comfort and strength. We are not alone in this task; the Holy Spirit guides and sustains us. Let us remain steadfast, watchful, and diligent, making the most of every opportunity to spread His grace and truth. Stay awake and be vigilant, for the time is near.
