Christ Crucified

2 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5

Christ Crucified
The Apostle Paul came to the Corinthians not with eloquence or worldly wisdom but in the power of the Spirit, declaring the simple yet profound truth of Christ crucified. In our own lives, we may feel inadequate, lacking the persuasive words or intellectual arguments the world prizes. Yet, Paul’s example reminds us that our faith does not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power. The message of the cross, foolishness to the world, is the power of God for those who believe. As we share the Gospel, we are called to rely not on our abilities but on the Holy Spirit, trusting that God will work through our weakness to reveal His strength. In this way, our faith, and the faith of those we witness to, will rest securely on God’s unchanging power rather than on the fleeting wisdom of man.
