Trusting God

14 So he listened to them in this matter, and tested them for ten days. 15 At the end of ten days it was seen that they were better in appearance and fatter in flesh than all the youths who ate the king’s food. 16 So the steward took away their food and the wine they were to drink, and gave them vegetables.

Trusting God
Daniel and his friends refused to eat the king’s food, trusting that God would provide for them. Their obedience in this small matter was not about diet but about faithfulness. They believed that God’s ways were best, even when surrounded by a pagan culture. God blessed their trust, making them healthier than those who ate the royal food. This was not about human wisdom but about God’s faithfulness. He strengthened them to stand firm, preparing them for greater trials ahead. Likewise, Christ was faithful in all things, even to death on the cross. He did not conform to the world but remained obedient to the Father, securing our salvation. Because of His faithfulness, we are forgiven when we fail and strengthened to remain steadfast. The world pressures us to conform, but Christ calls us to trust in Him, even in the small things, knowing He sustains us.
