Wisdom from Above

17 As for these four youths, God gave them learning and skill in all literature and wisdom, and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 At the end of the time, when the king had commanded that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king spoke with them, and among all of them none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Therefore they stood before the king. 20 And in every matter of wisdom and understanding about which the king inquired of them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and enchanters that were in all his kingdom. 21 And Daniel was there until the first year of King Cyrus.

Wisdom from Above
God granted Daniel and his friends wisdom and understanding beyond their years. While the Babylonians sought to reshape them in the ways of their pagan culture, the Lord preserved them in faith and blessed them with knowledge that surpassed all others. True wisdom does not come from earthly learning alone but from the fear of the Lord (Prov. 9:10). Likewise, Christ is our true wisdom. In Him, we have understanding beyond human reason, the wisdom of the cross. The world sees the cross as folly, but to us who believe, it is the power of God (1 Cor. 1:18). Just as Daniel and his friends stood firm in a foreign land, we, too, are called to stand firm in Christ amid a world that opposes Him. He strengthens us with His Spirit, giving us faith that clings to His promises, wisdom rooted in His Word, and eternal hope in His cross.
