Cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb

13 Then I heard a holy one speaking, and another holy one said to the one who spoke, “For how long is the vision concerning the regular burnt offering, the transgression that makes desolate, and the giving over of the sanctuary and host to be trampled underfoot?” 14 And he said to me, “For 2,300 evenings and mornings. Then the sanctuary shall be restored to its rightful state.”
Daniel 8:13-14

Cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb
In Daniel’s vision, the holy place was trampled, and the faithful questioned how long the desecration would last. The answer, “2,300 evenings and mornings,” points to a set time when the sanctuary would be restored. Historically, this refers to the desecration under Antiochus IV and the later rededication of the temple. Yet the vision also anticipates something greater. Sin always defiles what is holy, whether the temple, our hearts, or our world. But the Lord appoints a time for cleansing. Ultimately, Christ fulfilled this in His cross. He, the true and final temple, bore the world’s defilement and rose to restore what sin destroyed. Now, we do not look to earthly temples but to Christ crucified, who cleanses us by His blood. In Him, our defilement is removed, and we are made holy. Even in dark times, we trust God’s timing and cling to the cross where true cleansing is found.
