11 Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. 2 It was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill. 3 So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.”

Promises
Jesus comes to rescue us because of his great love for us. His Word is true and his promises kept. He has seen the afflictions of his people and heard their cries and he knows their suffering and comes down to deliver them. Faith reaches out to these promises. Faith is courageous and insists on the mercy that it knows comes only from Jesus. The sisters sent to Jesus. The Christian prays to the Lord. He promises to hear you. Lay your petitions before the Lord. Faith pushes you. Jesus knows you. He dies to save you and rises again to justify you. You belong to him. He loves you and fights along side you.
