A Place Prepared by the Lord
14 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
John 14:1-4

A Place Prepared by the Lord
Jesus speaks these words on the night of His betrayal, when fear and confusion cloud the disciples’ hearts. His comfort is not grounded in their feelings or understanding, but in His promise and His person. The “Father’s house” is not a vague spiritual hope but the very dwelling of God, made accessible through Christ. He does not simply point the way, He is the way. Through the cross, He prepares the place He promises. His bloody death tears the veil. His resurrection opens the door. We do not follow a distant teacher; we are led by the crucified and risen Lord who goes ahead of us. “Let not your hearts be troubled,” He says, because the cross has already settled the only fear that truly binds us. Christ Himself prepares your place. And Christ Himself will bring you home.
