A Little While
18 “I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. 19 Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. 21 Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”
John 14:18-21

A Little While
The Lord goes to the cross and the disciples are scattered. For a little while, the world will not see him. Yet, he does not abandon us. He has not left the disciples or the church as orphans. He comes again. He goes to the cross and walks out of the grave (it is only a little while), so that the church can live. He dies so that his bride can live with him forever. In this great work, your sins are forgiven and salvation is won for you. In this great work, the Father is glorified and his will is accomplished. He who loved us, now makes it so we can love, too. The Father is delighted in this. He is delighted in you. The Son is delighted to return. He won’t leave you as orphans. He comes to take you home. It will just be a little while. His Word is true.
