A Messenger

A Messenger
Throughout the Bible God uses His messengers to bring news to His people. Sometimes it is good, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” (Luke 1:30) At other times it is not so good, as in our reading from Job today. The important thing to remember is that God speaks to His people. And the greatest of all the messages God has given His people is that of His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. God continues to speak to His people and sends them His message of hope and salvation in Christ. A message revealed to us through His Word. A message which offers forgiveness and life eternal with Him. The message the world too often gives us is one of doubt and fear, of trouble and turmoil. Yet God answers each of those with His Son, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.” (John 14:27)
