Strive Together
30 I appeal to you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to strive together with me in your prayers to God on my behalf, 31 that I may be delivered from the unbelievers in Judea, and that my service for Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints, 32 so that by God’s will I may come to you with joy and be refreshed in your company. 33 May the God of peace be with you all. Amen.

Strive Together
The Christian community prays together. The voices of God's saints unit both in their confession of faith and in their prayers on behalf of one another. It is only by the intervention of our Lord Jesus that we pray for our neighbor. It is only by the instruction of the Word of God that we lift up our voices to the God that promises to hear us. Otherwise, our old Adam concentrates solely on itself. We are curved in on our own desires and passions. We are our own best cheerleader for the things that feel good. However, the Lord Jesus lifts our eyes to heaven and to the needs of those around us. It is the work of the Holy Spirit that binds us together as a spiritual house. We are refreshed in the company of other believers because of the Word of God that dwells there. Thanks be to God that Jesus went to the cross and died for us to unite us as his people in forgiveness and life. The God of peace dwells with you.
