The Armor of Light
11 Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. 12 The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy. 14 But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

Armor of Light
We once walked in darkness and we liked it. We ran from God and gave no care for our neighbor and our family. But we have been rescued. We have been transformed by the work of Jesus' death. He died on the cross to save us. Our salvation is nearer than we think. The Lord has promised to return for us and he will come. However, he also promises to prepare you for the fight of your daily life. He promises to fit you with the armor of light for the battles against darkness that are waged against you by the devil, the world, and your own sinful nature. Go into the battle confident that the enemy is already defeated. Go into the fight with Jesus. Put on the armor of light and the darkness will cower away. Thanks be to God that Jesus has rescued us by his cross.
