The Mystery
Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, “The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”; “and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.”
Romans 11:25-27

The Mystery
There are many mysteries in this world. Things that we will never understand because they are our of our grasps of understanding. Here Paul is not talking about a mystery that can never be understood. What he speaks of is a mystery only understood through faith. That is, it is revealed to us. What is this great mystery you might ask? It is God’s plan of salvation. We could never reconcile how a perfect and holy God could ever be in the presence of unclean and sinful people such as ourselves. How could that ever come about. We could never rid ourselves of our sins, we could never make ourselves clean enough. “But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” The mystery is revealed in Christ. In His blood we are washed clean and have put on His righteousness. It is Christ that our Father sees on our judgement day. He is why we can stand before our Father and have life. Thanks be to God for His great unveiling of His plan of salvation through the cross of Christ.
