Called by Christ's Authority

9 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord? Are not you my workmanship in the Lord? 2 If to others I am not an apostle, at least I am to you, for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 9:1-2

Called by Christ's Authority
"Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus our Lord?"  Here, Paul defends his apostleship by pointing to his encounter with the risen Christ. His calling and authority come not from human institutions but from Christ Himself. Like Paul, we are called by Christ’s authority, not through any merit of our own, but through His grace poured out on the cross. It is in Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection that we find our identity and purpose. Just as Paul was sent to proclaim the Gospel, so are we called to live out our faith, sharing the good news of Christ’s sacrificial love. The cross reminds us that our worth and calling are rooted in Jesus’ work, not our own. Let us trust in His calling, rejoicing that by His cross, we are equipped and sent to serve in His name. In Christ crucified, we find our confidence and our mission.
