In the Greatness of His Power
Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No; he would pay attention to me. There an upright man could argue with him, and I would be acquitted forever by my judge.

In the Greatness of His Power
Job asks a question which is often asked by those who question God’s love and care for them, “Does God even care about little insignificant me?” I His greatness does God actually take the time to care about us or is He too busy to bother. Those who do not know God’s Word or who have been taught a false theology often conclude that God in fact does not have the time nor the inclination to attend to our needs. After all He has a universe to maintain and 7 billion other people who are more important. But Job knows differently. He answers his own question, “he would pay attention to me.” This should comfort the heart and soul of every person to know that the God of all creation does in fact have time for you. He wants you to come to Him, He wants you to tell Him your fears and struggles, your needs and pains. God is a God of love (1 John 4:8). He promises to hear our prayers, “Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:12-13). In the greatness of God’s power, He listens to the prayers of the faithful and answers them. What sweet comfort this knowledge gives.
