Once for All

11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.

Once for All

Earthly priests stood daily, offering sacrifices that could never take away sins. But Christ, our great High Priest, offered Himself once for all. His sacrifice on the cross was perfect, sufficient, and complete. No longer do we need repeated offerings; in Christ, we have full atonement. At the cross, Jesus declared, "It is finished" (John 19:30). His work was not partial but absolute. Now, He is seated at the right hand of God, not standing in ongoing sacrifice, but reigning in victory. Through His one offering, He has perfected us who are being sanctified. We rest in this promise: our salvation is not in our hands but in Christ’s finished work. When guilt burdens us, we look to the cross and see that the debt is paid in full. We live in confidence, forgiven and redeemed, awaiting the day when our victorious King returns.
