Justice Corrupted

Of a truth, God will not do wickedly, and the Almighty will not pervert justice. Who gave him charge over the earth, and who laid on him the whole world?
Job 34:12–13

Justice Corrupted
Elihu comes to the defense of God as he believes Job has spoken wrongly about Him (v.9).  He declares that God does not pervert justice. He makes the point that God would not do wickedly nor pervert justice because God would not turn aways from His creation. He continues to order our world as the seasons follow one after the other as they always have. The sun continues to rise in the east and set in the west. God’s creation and the care He shows it is a gift given to us.  He does not bring about in cruelty that which He made in mercy. God has known us from before we were conceived (Jeremiah 1:5) and has provided for us continually. These are not the actions of a God who would corrupt justice.  God has been and always will be the God of creation and order, even after our sins plunged His prefect creation into disorder. And into our sin created chaos our loving Father sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to reconcile us and all creation back to Himself.  In our darkest hour, when we are marred down in sin, God creates in us a clean heart, and renews in us a right spirit (Psalm 51:10). Justice is not corrupted but the corrupted are justified. In Christ and His blood, we are made right with God. The reason for our being, the cause of our salvation is here in His Word and Sacraments, and He does not neglect to care for us.
