Adorned with His Word
Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget your people and your father's house, and the King will desire your beauty.
PSALM 45:10-11

Adorned with His Word
The Holy Spirit says: "I will give you most beautiful advice. If you hear Me, it will make you a most lovely maiden. If you wish to be beautiful before God in order that all your works may please Him, so that He may say: 'Your prayer pleases Me, all that you say, do, and think pleases Me,' then you should hear, look, and incline your ear. You will be completely lovely when you hear, look, and forget your earlier righteousness, every law, all human traditions . . . and believe. Then you are beautiful not by your own beauty, but by the beauty of the King, who has adorned you with His Word, who has granted you His righteousness, His holiness, truth, strength, and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit." . . . If you look at Baptism with spiritual eyes you will see that it clothes you with the vestments and adornments of Christ. So the Eucharist clothes you with the adornment of Christ, the Gospel clothes you with the adornment of Christ. How could you wish for a better or more precious adornment than that with which Christ is adorned and adorns you?
