Go Out from the Ark

God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided. . .. Then God said to Noah, "Go out from the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons' wives with you. Bring out with you every living thing that is with you."
GENESIS 8:1, 15-17

Go Out from the Ark
So far there has been only a factual account, or a description of a divine work. Although God's works are not mute but speak to us and, as it were, set before our eyes a view of God's will, God nevertheless comforts us far more effectively when to His works He adds the spoken Word, which the eyes do not see but the ears hear, and which the heart understands as a result of the working of the Holy Spirit. So far, by His work, God has shown that He has been appeased and, as it were, has been changed from an angry God to a merciful one, since He restrains the waters and dries up the earth. Now He continues to strengthen this comfort with His Word. He addresses Noah in a friendly manner and commands Him, together with the rest of the human beings and the animals, to leave the ark.
