As God Commanded
Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.
GENESIS 21:4

As God Commanded
Abraham assigns the name to his son by divine authority, for the angel of the Lord had stated that this name should be given to him. He also circumcises his son on the eighth day, and Moses adds that this was done in accordance with the Lord's command. Therefore just as Abraham does everything in accordance with the Word and his call, so we, too, should see to it that we undertake nothing without the Word and are not found in a state or work about which we have doubts.
