This marriage was arranged and confirmed by the Lord, who brought Rebecca to Isaac, just as He had brought Eve to Adam. The Holy Spirit has given this description that we may know that the union of a man and a woman is from the Lord, especially if it takes place with the consent of the parents and the girl, as happened here. Therefore the servant adds words of thanks for the bride bestowed by God. To that extent godliness abounds in all his activities, for in small matters as well as in great thanks should be given to God.
