A Light for the Nations

Isaiah 49:6
[H]e says:
“It is too light a thing that you should be my servant
to raise up the tribes of Jacob
and to bring back the preserved of Israel;
I will make you as a light for the nations,
that my salvation may reach to the end of the earth.”

A Light for the Nations
During these often-dark days of winter it is easy for our behavior to border on reclusive. We want to hibernate in our homes and wake up in the spring. But this is simply not possible. There are too many responsibilities in our days to sleep though them all.
So how are we to get though these dark days? Thankfully we do not have to do it alone! There is a place where the warmth of Christ’s light shines fourth and cuts though the bitter chill of this sinful world. There is a place where the bright rays of hope spring forth, scattering the shadows of depression and despair. There is a Light which draws you like no other light you have ever experienced. This Light of the Nations is also the Savior of the Nations who has come to set the captive free and announce a year of celebration!
During those dark and cold times, when all you want is to pull the covers over your head, look instead to the Light that no darkness can overcome, Jesus Christ. Come to where He says He will be. Come to church and receive the gift of forgiveness, salvation, and life eternal that He offers. Come and see what Jesus has said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life” (John 8:12).
