Heavenly Witness
O earth, cover not my blood, and let my cry find no resting place. Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and he who testifies for me is on high. My friends scorn me; my eye pours out tears to God, that he would argue the case of a man with God, as a son of man does with his neighbor. For when a few years have come I shall go the way from which I shall not return.

Heavenly Witness
Too often we are more concerned with the things of this world than we are with the things of God. We especially concern ourselves with the approval of other people. We desperately want to be seen as relevant and as part of the in crowd. This too often leads us into all manner of sinful behavior. We go along with what everyone else is doing, even when it is sinful, for the sake of being accepted. Yet at the end of the day our friends in this world are not going to save us. Their testimony will not be considered on judgment day. And as Christ’s Words warn us, “but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven.” For we do have One who will speak for us, who will stand as our witness. And that is Christ Jesus. He knows our heart and see our faith or lack thereof. It is only His testimony in which the Father care to trust. So not matter what the devil, the world, and our sinful flesh try to do to convince us to abandon God and follow the ways of this broken world, we answer with Peter, “We must obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29). For our fate rest in the witness of our Savior Jesus Christ, and in Him is where we find our rest.
