Look to the Heavens

I will answer you and your friends with you. Look at the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds, which are higher than you. If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him?
Job 35:4–6

Look to the Heavens
Creation testifies to the power and might of God. From the outer limits of space to the inner workings of the atom God is evident in His creation. What is also evident is that we do not compare to Him. He is so far beyond us in His being that we can never truly and completely understand God.  This is what makes our salvation so remarkable.  God does not need us, even when we were in the Garden and without sin, God was not dependent upon us.  And after the fall, our sin made God unapproachable.  So, for Him to do what He did to restore our broken relationship is beyond even the greatness of His creation. The incarnation speaks to a God who is not distant and uninvolved. From outside of creation God stepped into our flesh to walk with us. So, share in the pain and struggle of the human condition, yet all the while without sin.  In Christ Jesus, God took our sins and carried them to the cross. And in the ultimate act of love died for us, so that we might have live eternal with Him.  And in His Word and Sacraments that salvation won on the cross is delivered to us, so that we might know salvation. And on that Last Day, if we are privileged to be here on earth, we will look to the heavens and know that our Salvation is coming again to wipe away every tear so that death will be no more.  In Christ Jesus we are made new creations in His blood.
