Clay Under the Seal
It is changed like clay under the seal, and its features stand out like a garment. From the wicked their light is withheld, and their uplifted arm is broken.
Job 38:14–15

Clay Under the Seal
We are products of our environment to some extent. We adopt the customs and manners of those closest to us or those we most admire. We are shaped by the forces coming down upon us for good or ill. Conceived in sin and born into this world set against God, the devil, the world, and our own sinful flesh delight in impressing their seal upon our hearts. We are children of darkness eager to stay in the shadows. But as the morning sun chases away the remaining vestiges of the night shadows, the coming of the Son of Man scatters the darkness of our sinful lives. Our Lord Jesus Christ comes to us through the Means of Grace and delivers salvation. A new seal is placed on our hearts. The seal of the cross reminds us that we are new creations remade in the image of our Father. In faith, He now shapes us as the potter shapes the clay (Isaiah 64:8). And we become products of His hands, able to shape and mold those around us as we share the Gospel of Christ Jesus.
