Impenetrable Armor

One is so near to another that no air can come between them. They are joined one to another; they clasp each other and cannot be separated.

Impenetrable Armor
Biomimicry is the design and production of materials, structures, and systems that are modeled on biological entities and processes. Humans have long turned to nature when we design feats of engineering. The study of birds’ wings gave us the blueprint for modern aircraft. Burrs inspired Velcro. No doubt the modern military complex would have loved to study the leviathan. It was a creature that God designed so well that no human could pierce its skin nor subdue and tame it. It had an impenetrable armor that protected it from all enemies. And in this way, we share this gift with the leviathan. It is not our skin that is impenetrable but something greater that God gives us. He tells us in Ephesians 6:11, “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.” Then God goes on to list all of the pieces of impenetrable armor He gives us; the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit. All these are freely given to us by our loving God. And if you notice all but one piece of this defensive in nature. God knows we need multiple defenses against the attacks of the devil. Likewise, God gives us the only offensive weapon we need to defeat Satan, the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. As we know, the devil has already been defeated by Christ Jesus on our behalf. So we can sing with confidence and assurance; one little word shall fell him. (LSB 656).
