A Creature without Fear
Behind him he leaves a shining wake; one would think the deep to be white-haired. On earth there is not his like, a creature without fear. He sees everything that is high; he is king over all the sons of pride.

A Creature without Fear
When God created the world and everything in it there was peace and harmony. Man and animal lived together without fear or mistrust. Even the mighty leviathan would not have been feared by Adam and Eve. Our first parents were creatures without fear because they walked with God in the cool of the evening and all was right with creation. Yet in selfish pride, our first parents disobeyed God, and not trusting in His promises they ate of the forbidden fruit, and all creation was plunged into chaos and the darkness of sin. And from that moment man has feared God’s creation. The leviathan became king over all the sons of pride. But in His infinite love, God did not leave us in fear, He came to set our hearts and minds at ease by exchanging Christ’s righteousness for our sinfulness. Through God’s grace, Jesus atoned for our sins so that we need not fear the attacks of the devil. With our sins forgiven, we are freed to love God and love one another. The leviathans of this world are no longer a threat to us as Christ has slain the mighty beast. The cross and empty tomb stand witness to the truth of victory in Christ Jesus alone.
