Newborn Infants
So put away all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander. Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation— if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is good.

Newborn Infants
Being born again through the water and the Word, we Christians live a new life not attainable by our own means. God comes to us in our fallen state and remakes us. And by daily contrition and repentance, we Christian live in a constant state of grace. Just as a newborn baby cries out for its mother’s milk seeking nourishment, so we Christians seek God’s nourishing Word. As the child grows from infant to toddler, taking his first wobbly steps we Christians, as we are brought into the faith must mature in our faith. This maturation process leads to a fuller knowledge of salvation bought for us through the Blood of the Lamb on Calvary’s cross. Therefore, we are to seek out the Gospel milk so as to be sustained in our faith and grow in the maturity of the Lord as He makes us wise to His love and care for us. And in doing so we will find that God’s Word satisfies our deepest needs.
